The Heart of Brooklyn
/To quote David Lynch, “Even bad coffee is better than no coffee at all.”
It a culture so fascinated by the blessed bean and the strong morning high it provides, there are many places where you can get the best cup of coffee and many places where you’ll spend five dollars for a cup of liquified dirt.
Coffee tastes better in Brooklyn. Maybe it’s the eclectic ambience or the exposed brick that surrounds you, but I have this strange suspicion that coffee was designed for Brooklyn-ites and the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. In the precious moment when we can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee lies a euphoria so simple and yet, so vital to getting us through the day.
I guess that’s why there are so many coffee shops around. Brooklyn has a coffee shop on ever block, each with a spunkier name than the next. I bring you to Little Skips, and it’s younger sibling Baby Skips located in Bushwick. With the nostalgia of the infamous Central Perk, this coffee shop transports you back to the 90s, when times were simple and people wore berets ironically.
The beauty about coffee shops in Brooklyn is each one promises some sort of experience included with your coffee, and Little Skips did not disappoint. On a Tuesday Morning, it was surprisingly full of freelancers all hustling while eating the most amazing avocado toast in the city. The coffee, sublime, is rich and the perfect buzz for the start to your day.
You can leave there feeling like you made the right choice, and your money went to coffee shop that puts thought into everything they do.
